ABOUT OUR LEADER
As the Executive Director of Represent Cincy, Jasmine Coaston leverages her decade of executive and policy experience to drive economic development and build a supportive ecosystem for the Cincinnati business community. Raised in the city, Jasmine’s career has been defined by servant leadership and a passion for achieving social justice through effective public policy.
Jasmine is a seasoned policy strategist whose past roles include serving as the Director of Community Affairs at the City of Cincinnati, where she successfully advocated for and passed key legislation on bail reform and renter's choice. She also served on high-impact bodies such as the Citywide Affordable Housing Strategy Workgroup and was featured on USA Today regarding the City of Cincinnati's Natural Hair Ordinance.
Prior to Represent Cincy, Jasmine was the Head of Policy at the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio. There, she oversaw policy initiatives in Education, Health, and Civic Engagement, and played a critical role in developing and releasing the influential State of Black Cincinnati report. A member of the inaugural class of School Board School and a recipient of the Urban League Young Professionals Community Pillar Award, Jasmine is recognized for her strategic vision and deep community involvement.
A recognized leader, Jasmine was named one of Business Courier’s “40 Under 40” in 2020, is an alum of the YWCA Rising Stars program, and is a founding member of Black Lives Matter Cincinnati. Her lifelong passion for social justice informs her leadership and commitment to creating the world she wants to see, a commitment motivated by her two doting children.
